Akkim, Turkey’s leading chemical manufacturer, was founded in 1977 in Yalova and has expanded its production activities in many different areas over the years. It produces basic chemicals such as chlor-alkali and derivatives, hydrogen peroxide and sodium percarbonate, methylamines, persulfates and bisulfites in its integrated facilities in YALKİMOSB (Yalova Composite and Chemical Specialized Organized Industrial Zone). It is competitive among a small number of manufacturers both in Turkey and in Europe. It also has a special position in these sectors with its wide range of products in performance chemicals including textile and fiber auxiliary chemicals, paper, water treatment, construction chemicals, personal care chemicals and plastic additives.

The company is the market leader in many products in basic chemicals and performance chemicals; it serves the cleaning, chemical, textile, paper, water treatment, food, metal, agricultural pesticide, energy, building, mining, plastics and construction sectors.

Founded in 2013, Akkim has developed into an organization that can innovate in global standards, working to enrich its products and produce innovative solutions by directing its efforts towards the right goals. The utilization of resources has been reorganized in parallel with the market and customer needs.

Using its presence and synergy in water treatment sector, Akkim has entered the advanced water purification sector by investing in ultrafiltration membrane module in their Yalova plant. With its modern factory established in 2016, Akkim has been the first and only manufacturer of this product in Turkey.

The company has been selling some of its know-how and technologies to overseas companies since 2002 and providing a wide range of services from engineering services to turn-key projects.

The company also attached importance to inorganic growth opportunities in its growth strategy. In 2015, Akkim acquired Akcoat, one of the world’s largest producers of enamel and ceramic frit, to enter to new markets. Company acquisitions continued in 2017 as well. Serving in 70 countries abroad, Akkim has acquired Dinox, a chemical sales and marketing company based in Germany, in order to get closer to its customers in the European market and to expand its export activities. Akcoat which is an Akkim subsidiary, recently bought Megacolor, which produces ceramic printing ink in Spain, making a significant integration investment.

Having around 1000 employees together with its affiliates and manufacturing in 6 locations, Akkim has a special place in the chemical industry with its structure offering various products for different sectors.
