These are: resource efficiency, consumer safety, air emissions, water emissions, and occupational health and safety.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most important global processing standard for textile products manufactured from organic fibers. It not only implements very demanding criteria during all stages of organic textile chain, but also requires compliance with requirements regarding social responsibility.

Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Joint Roadmap attempts to define and develop a Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL) for apparel and shoe industry.

ZHDC MRSL addresses not only substances that may be present in finished products, but also hazardous substances potentially used or released to the environment during manufacturing and related processes.
